These are two blacklight posters I put up for an exhibition at the Diego Rivera Gallery. These works are not re-created only bought and shown next to each other. My idea was to propose an optical dilemma, one that asks the viewer to consider the similar vortex looking posters and accept that each is the same found image. With this acceptation one has to compare the visual relationship of the two posters. The viewer is unable to look at one without seeing the other in their peripheral perspective. If one is to view the work evenly then he or she must look at the small bar-shaped wall space in between the two posters and they receive a slight cross-eyed or fish-eye illusion. The work is intended to comment on the surreal trip of seeing double. 2005.
